PRESS RELEASE May 2014

Jyväskylä-based startup FanART Games was granted the 20 000 euro Appcampus award, funded by Microsoft and Nokia and organised by Aalto University. FanART Games thus became the first company in Central Finland to be awarded the Appcampus fund.

FanART Games are working on their first release, Mega FAN! music fan game, which will be released for the Windows Phone platform in September and for Android, iPhone and PC platforms at the end of the year.

Mega FAN! offers players the chance to play as the members of their favorite bands and collect points which they can then exchange for autographed CDs, pictures or meet&greet tickets of their favorite artists. The bands that have promised their support for the game include e.g. Sepultura, Lacuna Coil, OOMPH!, Combichrist, Dead by April, Machinae Supremacy, among others.

FanART Games is a startup company founded in March 2014 in Jyväskylä by international players that wishes to boost the area and companies’ image through their games. FanART Games’ game platforms enable precision marketing through in-game ads and seeks partnerships and sponsors both locally and internationally.

FanART Games organizes a release event for Mega FAN! in October in Lutakko, Jyväskylä, to which fans can purchase tickets and the Finnish bands involved in the game will perform there. In January after the multiplatform release a three-day release event will be held in Paviljonki, Jyväskylä, and several international artists involved in the game will perform at the event.
